Once a season you may exchange tickets to one production for another production of your choice! Just return your original tickets to us one business day prior to the performance you cannot attend and you may change into a different upcoming production.
- Subscriber Standby
Missed your performance? Bring your unused subscription tickets to the Citi Performing Arts Center Box Office one hour before any subsequent performance of the same production and we will seat you according to availability. We cannot guarantee comparable seating. Please note: Subscriber standby is not available for The Nutcracker or non-subscription ticket purchases.
- Ticket Donation
If you cannot attend a
performance you have tickets for, you may donate them back to
Boston Ballet and receive a receipt for an applicable
tax-deduction. The Box Office must be in possession of the tickets
one business day prior to the performance you cannot attend.
- Lost Tickets
Call Boston Ballet's
Subscriber Box Office if you have lost your tickets, and we will
happily reprint them. The reprinted tickets will be waiting for you
at the theater on your performance date. Please bring your
subscriber card and a picture ID to claim them.
- Discounted Tickets
Need extra tickets
for friends? Subscribers may purchase additional tickets at a
10% discount off the box office price.
- Priority for The Nutcracker
Many performances of The Nutcracker sell out early, but
our subscribers can purchase tickets before they're sold to the
general public! (Limit 40 tickets).

Bring your
subscriber card to the Boston Ballet shop, located in the lobby of

SUBSCRIBER TICKET
EXCHANGE
As a subscriber, your first exchange
for each ballet is free.
- Exchanges must be made at least one business day
before your regularly scheduled performance, OR
before the performance into which you want to
exchange. Day-of-performance exchanges are not
possible and we cannot handle exchange requests for future
performances while at the theater.
Example: You have two subscription tickets for Saturday, October 3, and you cannot attend. You want to exchange your tickets for the performance on Thursday, October 1. Call the Box Office or fax your tickets before 5 pm on Wednesday, September 30. Exchanges are made for the best seats available. We cannot guarantee comparable seats. Exchanges are for Boston Ballet subscribers only. We cannot exchange tickets purchased by a subscriber through another ticket vendor.

To pick up your exchanged tickets, you must bring your original subscription tickets to the Opera House starting one hour before the scheduled performance.

PERFORMANCE POLICIES
Theater Etiquette
Please remember to turn off cellular phones, paging devices, and digital watches before taking your seat. Photography or videotaping of any kind is strictly forbidden. Light snacks and beverages are available for your enjoyment in the lobby during intermission. There is no dress code.
Latecomers
Performances begin promptly. In consideration of all audience members, once the curtain goes up, latecomers will be seated at the discretion of management.
Children at the Ballet
Boston Ballet welcomes children and recommends The Nutcracker for ages 4+ and all other ballets for children aged 8+. All children must have a ticket; infants are not allowed in the theater.
Weather Emergency
Boston Ballet rarely cancels performances due to weather conditions. In the event of a weather emergency, please call the Boston Ballet Hotline 617.456.6230 for updates.

Wheelchair Accessibility
The Boston Opera House has an elevator that stops on all levels. Wheelchair seating is available through the Boston Ballet box office in person, by phone at 617.695.6955 or at the Boston Opera House on Boston Ballet performance dates only beginning two hours prior to the first curtain of the day.
Theatre is equipped with an infrared sound enhancement system. Headsets are available at no extra charge in the main lobby.
